Discovering Strengths and Resiliencies
If a child does not know his or her strength, then how can he or she use it? A child’s realization of his or her own power, recognition of the types of activities that are renewing activities for him or her, and a few successes or bounce-back experiences can go a long way in the healing process.
Assisting parents, educators, and medical health providers to locate resiliency-building, renewing activities is an important part of my work. Also, I help children to discover their attributes and resilience, even in the midst of internal or external stress - easier said than done, but a worthwhile endeavor. Exploration and collaborative empiricism all contribute to this task.
