Welcome! I am a Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider (Massachusetts Lic. #9724) delivering in-office, community-based, and tele-psychology (e.g., HIPAA-compliant video conferencing) services to children, teens, parents, and educators.

Utilizing psychological science, I work to promote mental health and wellness in 3-17 year olds. I invest a great deal of time with young patients and their families up front, which allows for well-informed, high quality interventions. I use psychological measurement tools to support diagnostic clarity.

Treatment with children and teens includes a holistic case management component, meaning that I directly coordinate with parents, educators, school counselors, tutors, physicians, nurse practitioners, and other professionals, as needed, pulling all of these entities together, often leading to a better understanding of the vulnerabilities and strengths of the child in context. This can allow for a more tailored and efficient sort of care all around.

My primary theoretical orientation is Cognitive-Behavioral. I typically offer Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) during the course of treatment. I can deliver parent training and parent guidance, and do so when it is in the interest of the patient.

My previous experiences in schools, and hospitals, and also my leadership roles in psychology, education, and group psychotherapy all inform my clinical practice.

Although I have traditionally worked directly with the child as the patient, and historically I've only seen parents in consultations and skills training, research and practice reveals we can enjoy similar treatment effects from only ever working with the parent using specific CBT interventions with the parents. With this in mind, in addition to offering child based services to include parent consultation, I am now accepting adults in my practice too. I’m picking up adult patients who are parents (without seeing child or teen).

Feel free to take time to review my website so that you are informed about my education, professional background, credentials, fees, and approach to treatment with children. Free resources, including a parent education video are also available on the “Resources” section of this website. Don’t hesitate to call if you have questions.

Sincerely,
Dr. Hodges
