Dr. Hodges' BLOG
Here you will find professional reflections on various topics pertaining to child psychology. Because I deliver evidence based care, it is common for me to refrain from sharing these sort of reflections in my day-to-day practice. Instead, I am more likely to educate parents and children about the knowledge and tools that they need more urgently to improve a child's health and wellness. For example, I may share about the science of emotions; CBT and specifically Exposure with Response Prevention; and optimal parent-child interactions as outlined in Child Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE). I let science guide my interventions and communications in clinical practice. I often refer children and families to other experts as well, including neuropsychologists, neurologists, and educational consultants. I firmly believe that this is the way to conduct psychological practice - assess the situation and deliver efficient care based on all knowledge available about the patient and the best science we have available to us.
